The Truth About Camp
Who is This Camp For? EVERYONE!
Beginner skaters: Focusing on safety, basic skate park etiquette, Transitions intro, grinding, positions, confidence building to take home,
Intermediate skaters: Mastering grinds, Transitions basics, and guide into specific tricks and goal. Confidence building.
Advanced Skaters: Technical combos, Transition perfection, optimization of energy and use of the park, specific tricks guides. Dream trick mastery.
Question: I’m not good enough to skate with legends. Will I be the worst one there?
Answer: We don’t group by ego; we group by ability. Whether you just bought your first pair of skates or you’re looking to dial in your 540s, our ‘Legend-Coaches’ are masters of progression. The coaches are here to lift you up, not look down on you. You aren’t ‘too bad’ for camp; you’re exactly who camp was built for
Question: I’m [35/45/55] years old… am I too old to be doing this?
Answer: Age is a number. We specialize in ‘Longevity Skating.’ A huge portion of our campers are adults returning to the sport or picking it up later in life. We focus heavily on safety, proper falling techniques, and smart progression so you can skate for the next 30 years, not just the next 6 days.
Question: Is it safe? I can’t afford to break a bone/miss work.
Answer: Skating does have risks, but ‘YOLO-ing’ a trick you aren’t ready for is what causes injuries. We teach the science of skating. By learning from pros who have spent decades in the streets and skate parks, you’ll learn how to fall properly, how to manage your center of gravity, and how build up bit by bit to your tricks and goals. You’ll leave Malaga a safer, better and smarter skater than when you arrived.
Question: It’s an investment. Why shouldn’t I just watch YouTube tutorials for free?
Answer: A YouTube video can’t see your weight distribution or tell you why your leading foot is shaking. At Camp, you get 24/7 access to the best eyes in the business. You’re paying for 6 days of intensive, real-time feedback that would take 6 years to figure out alone in a parking lot. Plus, you can’t download the lifelong friendships and the Malaga sun.
Question: I skate Quad/In-line… will I be the ‘odd one out’
Answer: We are one tribe under wheels. At Blading Camp, we celebrate our community. In-line and Quad skaters share the same parks, the same sun, and the same struggle! Learning alongside different styles actually makes you a more creative, versatile skater. There is zero elitism here only good vibes and healthy environments
